no sound

Hello smart people!

I just installed ubuntu 8.04 beta and my sound is lost! (at ubuntu 7.10 is worked o.k).

My sound card is on board: Ecs 662/1066t-m2.

The error message: "The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This means either that you don't have the right GStreamer plugins installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured."

try to download the correct codec for the os.visit www.codec.com

Hello,
The person who published this response is most likely the owner of the following website: www.codec.com
it's a junk website.
The problem was not solved and i am still waiting for the solution to be found.
