I have a toshiba laptop running 14.04 LTS and the sound sometimes suddenly stops.

The Sound on my toshiba laptop suddenly stops working.

I've already tried.
-Purging pulseaudio
-Changing configs in alsamixer
-Updating Drivers.

Rebooting fixes the issue but then the sound stops again.

Laptop is Toshiba Satellite L750-170 with no customizations made

Try:

killall pulseaudio; rm -r ~/.pulse* ~/.config/pulse*

Wait 10 seconds then try some sound stuff
