I ma using the incorporated standard speakers for output.
Remark : The laptop has a mute hot key. Whenever this mute hotkey is pressed, the system crashes : no more keyboard input possible , no more mouse available. I have to stop the computer and restart it with the power button.

Hello
Thank you for your help.

I usually do not use any headphones with my PC. I have tried my mobile
head phones and I hear no sound.

Please run alsamixer in a Terminal and unmute and increase volume to 100% on the following mixer channels in alsamixer:

The Master volume is currently set to 0%

Simple mixer control 'Master',0
Simple mixer control 'Mic',0
Simple mixer control 'Mic Boost',0
Simple mixer control 'IEC958',0
Simple mixer control 'Capture',0
Simple mixer control 'Loopback Mixing',0 -> set to enabled
