Both my speakers and headphones are not working on my laptop since i have installed ubuntu. Can anyone help me out?

Please try this solution:

So please run the following command in a Terminal:
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.
Using the gedit editor, scroll down and ADD the following configuration
line at the end of the file:
options snd_hda_intel index=0 model=auto vid=1022 pid=780d enable_msi=0
Using the gedit editor, scroll down and REMOVE the following
configuration line at the end of the file:
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop-epad
Then reboot your PC.
Then test sound output using headphones and speakers.
Test ALL audio jacks at the front and the back of your PC.

The problem still remains unsolved.
The inbuilt speakers give no sound output.
However, when i connected a headphone it automatically started serving as a mic and I heard what I said.
