No sound on 14.04 other than USB headset
I am following the steps on https:/
I want to have sound via analog outputs. I cannot hear any sounds from any of the 6 rear jacks or the 2 front jacks. I can hear sound via my USB headset when I select the headset as the output.
Audio worked fine in Ubuntu 13.10 prior to the upgrade.

From Step 5: Rebooted and retested all plugs without success.
From Step 6: I verified all devices are not muted and all volume settings are 100%. Still no success.
From Step 7: I adjusted all channels to maximum volume levels and not muted. Still no success.
From Step 8: Rebooted and retested all plugs without success.
From Step 9: I am not running a dual boot system and never did on this system.
From Step 10: I do not see any section in Settings to set the Sound Theme.
From Step 11: I checked all ports, front and back, after each step was completed.
From Step 12: BIOS settings were reset and audio was already set to Enabled. Still no success.
From Step 13: I do not have a PCI sound card. I am using the onboard audio.
From Step 14: My motherboard is a MSI Z87-G43 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz.
From Step 15: Not applicable as I do not have a S/PDIF out.
From Step 16: Not applicable as I am not using the HDMI output nor do I have a device that can play sound via the HDMI output. The monitor does not have speakers or an output on the monitor to plug speakers into.
