Just a bit more info on this: I have a dual boot PC; Windows 7 & Ubuntu Linux 12.04
Recently my sound card (SB Audigy) quit working under Linux but works fine under Windows.
I installed the sound card about 3 weeks ago and it worked under Linux for about a week, then quit.

I never got a resolution - so I bought a new sound card, installed & sound is working now in Linux. Please close this
