Try:

killall pulseaudio; rm -r ~/.config/pulse*; rm -r ~/.pulse*

Wait 10 seconds and reboot. You will see a warning but it is expected.

The pins aren't being set. I just saw a very similar bug (same Realtek ALC880 codec, but different motherboard): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1231903

/sys/class/sound/hwC0D0/init_pin_configs:
0x14 0x00000000
0x15 0x00000000
0x16 0x00000000
0x17 0x00000000
0x18 0x00000000
0x19 0x00000000
0x1a 0x00000000
0x1b 0x00000000
0x1c 0x00000000
0x1d 0x00000000
0x1e 0x00000000
0x1f 0x00000000

Run the following command (it's all one command):
echo "options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-digout" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

Say prayer if so inclined. Reboot.
