Please try this procedure:

Step 1: Open Terminal

Step 2: Run the following command (copy/paste command into the Terminal and then hit <enter>)

gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

In the gedit editor, scroll down to the last lines of the alsa-base.conf file and ADD these 2 lines to the end of the alsa-base.conf file (with the file open inside the gedit editor!):

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=mobile

In the gedit editor, scroll down to the last lines of the alsa-base.conf file and DELETE these 2 lines to the end of the alsa-base.conf file (with the file open inside the gedit editor!):

options snd-hda-intel model=ref
options snd-hda-intel model=mb5

Step 3: Reboot pc and retest sound using both headphones and speakers. Test all audio jacks at the front and the back of your PC.

Step 4: If sound is still not working after a reboot, replace the mobile model option with one of the options (desktop, laptop, etc...) below and then reboot and retest sound again. Only test ONE model option at a time between each reboot!

I tried every modul (mobile, desktop, laptop, thinkpad, touchsmart) as I write here. Each of it with new reboot for every single one. But itś still noch working. Thanks for your help! I paste the alsa-config which I get now. Do you see anything else?! Or maybe I could gibe you another file?! The one like before?

Why have you added these 2 lines:

snd-hda-intel: model=ref
snd_hda_intel: model=mb5

Especially the macbook line, when you aren't using a MacBook.

Hi! Thanks for your answer!

@Daniel: Do I have to change something somewhere?! It's a little difficult to me, everythings new, sorry! So the question is, what is the command to change the code.

@andrew: Mark told me before to delete mb5, but I don't see it. How do I get to change it please?
The command was "gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf". Where can I change it?
In the code I deleted the line "snd-hda-intel: model=ref" and wrote
"alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=mobile" instead as Mark told me.
And with mobile I tried every model and reboot, but nothing changed. I tried: mobile, desktop, laptop, thinkpad, touchsmart.
Where can I delete mb5 and shall I try different models again?

If you already removed the model=ref and model=mb5 lines, then you don't need to remove them again. I think actionparsnip's point was to try one model at a time and don't copy/paste random things you find on the net that don't make sense. You can try model=hp the same way you've been doing the others (gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf).

Thank you Daniel!
You may be right, that this was actionparsnip thought- and he may be right..
But I can tell, now it's workling! I don know excactly what's the solution. But all in one you had the same points and I will try to get to know commands and codes!

Thank you!

@Daniela:

Just for future reference: the answer to all the questions you asked, was available in the Terminal output from step 4 in the troubleshooting procedure (= post #2 in this thread) :

/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf:options snd-hda-intel model=ref
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf~:options snd-hda-intel model=ref
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf~:options snd-hda-intel model=laptop
/etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf:options snd_hda_intel model=mb5

Your Terminal output already showed where you set all the different model options at the same time. Activating the ref, laptop and mb5 model options at the same time is not allowed, as I already explained in post #1 in this thread... It could never work that way.

Oh... now it's not working anymore.. Could you please tell me how I can get or what 's the command to change tho code of Alsa that it will work. I understand, that I can not set every model of it. But where could I change it? "gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf" is the command I used and how I could change something. But thereś nothing about mb5, now I'm wondering.
As I said, I'm just starting with ubuntu and I will get to it. But first I may need just a little more help please.

The answer to that question is also in post #10....

gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf~

AND

gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf

But it's still not working, there is no sound from the speaker.
WHat's to change also?!

This is my alsa-bas.config:

You should not be putting ANY model option references in both /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf~ and /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf

These two files should not contain any model options at all.

You should only specify a model option in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf (without the ~ sign)

Furthermore, make sure that there are no muted channels in alsamixer and that all mixer channels in alsamixer have their volume level increased to 100%

I have no further suggestions to make.....
