Toshiba Satellite C50 audio problems
Using a Toshiba Satellite C50-A-185 i have the following problems with the sound card:
* internal microphone is not working
* when headphones or external speakers are attached the sound continues to come out of the internal speakers
* external microphone not working
I tried to
* check alsamixer, when pressing F4 it says: "This sound device does not have any capture controls."
* check pavucontrol: nothing muted, volume high enough
* putting various model=[model] in the alsa config file
* i checked this guide but nothing there did work: https:/
* i googled but found nothing that worked

You have very recent hardware.
Run:
sudo update-pciids
sudo update-usbids
Then, install updated audio module: https:/
If it's still not cooperating after reboot, get the updated alsa info.

You have an idt/sigmatel 92hd95 codec, which needs ALSA kernel module >= 3.9 for support:

So updating the module should fix it: https:/
