Ubuntu 12.04 internal mic not working

Internal mic not working. Lenovo laptop. Tested under 12.10 live cd and it works there.

may be a problem with old kernel(in12.04). 12.10 do have latest drivers included in it's kernel and hence will support most of the hardware. try installing ubuntu 12.10. U have not mentioned your PC Specs.

 Headed there now to grab 12.10 and be done with this bug. Thanks for
the reply. I really wanted to stick with the LTS version but I can deal
with 6 month upgrades.
