No analog output on ASUS motherboard

Asked by Mikes

Currently using Ubuntu 12.10 64 bits, I just don't have any sound (in or out) from the jack outputs (6 at the back, 2 on front.) I don't have the equipment to try the HDMI output... I followed the procedure from the official wiki (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshootingProcedure) and did not get any results.

My ALSA info is located here : http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=2ac0223276e6bbd06086d0f674e14c67a05f3987

Thing is, I have an ugly "Unclaimed" on my analog output when I run the command from the procedure at step 4 (In french : NON-RÉCLAMÉ)

If you remove:

options snd-hda-intel model=6stack

from /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

and reboot, then run:

alsamixer

are all levels maxed and unmuted?

Thanks for your answer. I removed this line as you asked, then rebooted, but the thing is, I have no access whatsoever to any sound levels with alsamixer...

Here's a screenshot of my alsamixer : http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/5149/capturedu20121228115513.png

I checked, there's no material problem (it's all new), and the HD Audio line is "enabled" in the BIOS.

I have only one option with alsamixer, despite the fact that I have two options when I run lspci | grep -i audio...

Alsamixer : http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/6954/capturedu20121229115738.png

lspci | grep -i audio :
00:14.2 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
01:00.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Caicos HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 6400 Series]

I've been wondering, maybe an external usb soundcard coul do the trick?...

Can you help with this problem?
