lost sound

Since reinstalling Ubuntu11.10 the sound is lost.

I used sudo apt-get install linux-ubuntu-modules-$(uname -r).

This gave two errors: E: Unable to locate package linux-ubuntu-modules-3.0.0-12-generic E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'linux-ubuntu-modules-3.0.0-12-generic'

Cannot use Banshee settings to work.

The BIOS setting had to be reverted to ON for SOUND.
