Dolby Advanced Audio on 12.04 / Lenovo N580

Is there any way to add Dolby Advanced Audio? I know that it is software driven in windows. I am not sure where or how to list my hardware but below is my best shot at it.

Thanks for helping. I don't know if it is possible but I am trying to learn so I can help others also. I have an HP-UX background and moving away from the "other" os.

Now using pavucontrol I can see my hdmi options and surround sound options. I just can't get the internal mic to work.

If you need to use the internal microphone, then I believe you need to use model=auto instead of model=lenovo as explained here:

I had upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10. I decided to install 12.10 from scratch and enable disc encryption during the install. Anyway, it al works perfectly now. I don't know why it didn't work doing the upgrade but it is fixed now. Thanks for everyone who helped.
