Default sound settings for 12.10
The sound used to work after installing 12.10. But now I got some sound problems with Line-In (built-in mic is working). Not sure the mic is working or not. Could be broke, but used to work.
Also the popping sound when adjusting the volume with the keyboard is gone.
I've been editing alsamixer in the terminal and not sure if I done something wrong.
How do I reset sound to default values? That would help me understand how alsamixer should look like from start.

Popping sound is back. I have a feeling the mic is broke. Been in the hands of kinds who twisted them a bit. So if everything seems normal that's it.

You can reset sound settings with:
killall pulseaudio; rm =r ~/.pulse*
Wait 10 seconds, then reboot

I see that you are mixing Ubuntu repositories from precise and quantal. Mixing like this can and will break your package manager. Please remove all configuration lines in /etc/apt/
Please open a Terminal and run alsamixer.
Please use alsamixer to UNMUTE and INCREASE volume to 100% on the following mixer channels:
Simple mixer control 'Speaker',0
Simple mixer control 'Mic',0
Simple mixer control 'Capture',0
Simple mixer control 'Digital',0
Also try muting one channel of the input (either left or right channel bar) in alsamixer.
