No application sound through HDMI after 12.04
After upgrading to 12.04, I can only get sound through my TV's HDMI connection when running MythTV. I do not get sound when running applications like firefox and going to Youtube etc.
I get pink noise through the TV if I run speaker-test -Dhw:1,9 -c2 but no matter what setting I've tried in asound.conf, I do not get sound from any other applications besides MythTV.
To reiterate, I'm trying to get digital sound from my applications though my TV via HDMI I am able to get sound for the applications through the headphone jack, but want it through HDMI.
