Asked by Axel Bojer

I recently upgraded my computer system from 10.10 via 11.04 og 11.10 til 12.04 via the standard ubuntu upgrading system.
Then the sound stopped working although it worked all right before the upgrade.
I have tried DVDs Firefox, mplayer and more, but still nothing.
Then i tried step 1, 2, 3 and 4 here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshootingProcedure
(but without the part concerning launchpad), but still no sound.

My alsa information is uploaded here:
http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=f916c18bc3690448dad6278bc9d7baeae7cf9246

According to the help page, this part of my message should be concerned a failure:
!!ALSA Version
!!------------

Driver version: 1.0.24
Library version: 1.0.25
Utilities version: 1.0.25

Best regards

BTW: I checked that alsamixer is not on mute or on very low values.

try:

echo "options snd-hda-intel model=3stack" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf > /dev/null

Reboot to test. Also see:

sudo echo "options snd-hda-intel model=3stack" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf > /dev/null
gave no results.
I will take a look at the link.
Thanks.
