Sound from headphones but not onboard speakers
Sorry for any repeats but i have had the problem for serveal months and have found no fix.
I have aCompaq 320 and I just upgraded to 12.04 hoping that that would do it but no luck. The speakers shouldnt be blown, and the sound card is registered. Any help wouls be great. As i said it has been several months now.

Yea I know, but I was having these same problems in 11.10 and though an update might solve them. But no luck.
Any clue on how to switch back with out totally re-installing or on how to update the ALSA driver so that they are all consistant.
