Help configuring 5.1 sound on AsRock G31M-S R2.0

Asked by Luk2478

I was using realtek drivers in Windows for that.
In UBUNTU I can't make it to use 5.1 sound.
When I go to sound properties I have
High Deifintion AUdio Controller 1 output (Digital Surroudn 5.1 (HDMI) Output) - whenever I select this I won't hear any sound.
Internal Audio 1 Output / 1 Input Analog Stereo Duplex - this is working. I can't hear sound in all 6 speakers only of my sound system.
The other problem is that I can't hear sound in my front audio (mic and headset)

use this command: alsamixer to adjust the volumes of the front audio, and make sure that it is not muted.

Can you help with this problem?
