Dell latitude E6410 internal mic not working 11.10

Sound - Input - no device for sound input listed, how can I detect internal mic on Dell E6410???

Tried the following url to no avail.

Please use the Terminal app called alsamixer to UNMUTE and INCREASE
volume to 100% on the following channels:

Simple mixer control 'Mic',0
Simple mixer control 'Capture',0

Use the M key to switch between mute/unmute states and use the arrow keys to increase volume.

MM = muted
00 = unmuted

Then test the microphone using ALL audio jacks at the front and at the back of your computer.

If the internal microphone is STILL not working after this, then I recommend installing Ubuntu 10.10 (yes, a downgrade!), as described here:
