How to disable soundcard

Asked by ixez

Hello everybody!

I'm using an HP dm1-2050er laptop with Kubuntu 11.10 64-bit.
I have an IDT audio controller but there is also AMD RS880 audio controller.
Of course, I'm using IDT all the time but the sound icon in the tray shows the volume level regulator only for RS880.
How could I disable the RS880 controller in my system or switch the displayed device in the tray?

Help me, please.
