HDMI Audio for first user on multiuser system

Asked by mnrbig

I have ubuntu 11:10 with five different users. HDMI audio works when the first user to login to the system. Other user who then login have no HDMI audio. A reboot resets the system so that any of the users that login first will have the HDMI audio work for them only. This occurs even if the first logged on user logs off. Is this a feature of HDMI audio?

Ok log in as the non-working user and run:

killall pulseaudio; rm -r ~/.pulse; rm ~/.pulse-cookie

Then wait a few seconds and try some sound apps

Hi

Thanks for the reply, this has made no difference. Still no HDMI sound. However i have noticed that HDMI only works for the first user to login for the first time. If I logout and then back in, i no longer have sound.

Can you help with this problem?
