I'm dual booting an hp pavillion media centre pc with ubuntu 11.04 and ubuntu 10.10 and xp media centre edition. I get no sound in either version of ubuntu, but the sound works perfectly in xp.

this problem was solved but i've had to reformat my hard drive due to a windows virus and i lost allthe info. i've reloaded ubuntu 11.04 and im having the problem again
