Acer 3830TG sound card not work in ubuntu 11.04

I try ubuntu 11.04 on my Acer 3830TG Laptop, but there is no sound. What should I do?

I solved the same problem on the same machine by following David Henningsson's instructions posted in those comments to the bug-report.
Basically, it involves installing http://people.canonical.com/~diwic/temp/alsa-hda-dkms-acer3830tg_0.1_all.deb in order to turn on EAPD on some unused pins.

The good news is that the next Ubuntu release will come with kernel 3.0, which already contains this patch by default. And it's only a month away...
