p.s. I find something interesting:

In the PulseAudio Volume Control, if I set Configuration to "Analog Stereo Input" first, then I can record, but cannot playback unless I reset to "Analog Stereo Duplex". Same thing with Skype. If I do nothing, the mic does not work at all, but if I set to Analog Stereo Input first, then I can talk but not hear the answer until I reset to Analog Stereo Duplex. Once I have done that then the rest of the conversation is duplex, and I don't need to set anything again. If I close Skype and reopen sometime later then I have to repeat the same process.

thank you. does that means that the natty upgrade solves the bug? I have got round the problem but it is a nuisance to have to set and reset the audio duplex function every time.
