Sound not working on my compaq presario CQ42 on ubuntu 10.4 any help ?

Being new i dont know how to lookup and configure for audio drives....so would need very detailed explation of each and every step.

Also my airtel 3g Huawei E1731 modem is giving me troubles the Firefox is not working but the internet connection has been established as i just copied the lunix file to the downloads, then changed the permission to read & write and to be able to exectued as an apllication for the install file and with help of few blogs was able to install it and exectue the install file......

but now my firefox is not working although am having internet.....

also my sounds am still not able to figure out how to correct the problems....any help would be apprectiated ....Thank you

Hey the problem for sound is solved i just followed the steps ( https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshootingProcedure ) and then forgot to increase my speakers volumes :P

but my airtel 3g is still not working with my Fire Fox and for which i think ill create a new post..... :)

hey thanks the sound problem has been solved and also now am using chromium its much better faster and smoother......by the way the Isusb output is

Well done for shakingoff you marriage to Firefox. I'm tired of people trumpeting Fiefox as amazing. When they try pretty much ANY other browser they realize it stinks :)

haha ...hey by the way do you know how to install bisigi themes....i did install it but only background, mouse and icons did change while the login screen, launcher and other stuff still is the same....you got any clues as to why this is happening ???

yes i have done it thought you would have answer to my question ......nm thanks .....hope i willl find answer to it .....by the way i have already posted a question in bisigi projects-- airline theme or balanza theme not sure which one... :P but i have ... :)
