My PC has no sound output, though the volume master is unmuted and acts as if the audio is playing normally; video also shows normally. I don't think it is a hardware problem because it used to work on Windows. (my PC is dual boot of Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10). It also stopped working once in Windows but it worked after I had it formatted. Once againd it stopped working, but I don't want to format again so I'll ignore it for a while. I installed a sound card but still it doesn't work, thgouht the hardware seems to be recognized. (of course, the sound card is PCI while the slots on the motherboard are PCI Express. Not sure if this combination fails).
Spec:-
Gigabyte Motherboard GA-G31M-ES2C 2.4 (chipsets - G31 (north) and ICH7(south)).
I followed a former troubleshooting procedure and after running 'bash alsa.sh info' (or something like that) I got this result. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me.
