Sound card model issue

I have had ubuntu installed for about 3 months, and nearly every week I have attempted, one way or another, using google, or links from forum posts etc...
I can get my headphones to work, (which answers the original problem) but now my microphone doesn't work.

I think that my problem is not getting the right model name to get my internal mic to work etc...
