Sound Problem on my Laptop

Asked by Kev Mills

Hi,

Just installed Ubuntu 10.10 for the very first time, completely new to Linux, so far very impressed.

I have a Packard Bell Easynote F5280 HR Laptop, Ubuntu runs well.

My only problem is that I have no sound coming out of the laptop speakers, plugging headphones into the laptop, I do get sound but it is crackly and low volume.

I was hoping to use this with music streaming etc.

Can you please assist me with getting the sound working. I apologise in advance, as I am new to Linux.

Many thanks

Kev Mills

New to Ubuntu: read the Ubuntu Manual, it's very informative: http://ubuntu-manual.org/
Click on the "download Button" to download the latest PDF version.
