Audio Intel ICH8 82801H (rev 04) headphones jack not working

Hello!

I've searched and digged all way around without finding any solution. I'm running Ubuntu on my iMac8,1 (Early 2008) and all works as intended, but the audio via headphones. It works just right via the internal speakers, but when I plug in my phones via the jack, nothing changes and the audio continues to flow through the internal speakers.

Please execute this procedure:

Step 1: Open Terminal from "Applications->Accessories->
Terminal"

Step 2: Run the following command (copy/paste the next command into the Terminal and then hit <enter>)

gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

REMOVE any previous snd-hda-intel model references in alsa-base.conf, including the following, which should be removed:

options snd-hda-intel model=imac24

ADD these 2 lines to the end of the alsa-base.conf file:

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-hp

Save the change to the alsa-base.conf, reboot and retest sound using headphones and speakers.

If those alsa-base.conf options don't work, please try one of these model options instead (ONE model at a time, not several at the same time):

Don't forget to reboot your pc after every change you make on the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file.

I'm restarting every minute :S but I don't hear any sound with most of the configurations. I tried then with apple configurations. With mb5 and imac24 (and auto as default) I can hear from the speakers, with mb5 I can even select in the "Output" section of audio preferences the headphones exit, but still audio is directed to speakers.

Is there any other way not to test every individual configurations, for example discovering what exactly is not working properly? dmesg maybe?
