I have a Packard Bell EasyNote-MR35 and the headphone and mic ports at the front are not working

I have a Packard Bell EasyNote-MR35 and the headphone and mic ports at the front are not working is there a driver or something i need to install to get them working as i use my laptop well notebook lol to build websites mainly and to listen to music at the same time and am unable to with out it being out of the speakers can someone please help me
