Hello,

I'm new to Linux. I installed Ubuntu 10.10. I love it, but my headphone jack does not work. I'm not experienced with command-line either and would appreciate any help. Following is the alsa diagnostic info:

If you run:

alsamixer

Make sure all levels are cranked and unmuted

before using the link, try addng:

options snd-hda-intel model=thinkpad

to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

and rebooting

After editing the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file and saving the change, you will need to REBOOT before testing the headphones.
