"Package audio does not exist" after fresh install of Lubuntu 10.10

Asked by Clement on 2010-11-25

I've installed Lubuntu 10.10 on my dad's extremely old computer - it only has a Pentium III processor and 512MB RAM, but there doesn't seem to be any audio. When I went to the terminal and typed "ubuntu-bug audio", an error message appeared, "Package audio does not exist".

What should I do?

try:

ubuntu-bug pulseaudio

Can you also give the output of:

wget -O alsa-info.sh http://alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh && bash ./alsa-info.sh

The system CPU and RAM are of no consequence if your issue is sound....

Thanks actionparsnip!

I have ran ubuntu-bug pulseaudio, and the bug report is located here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/681419

I've also ran that command you mentioned, and the output is located here: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=45d682f822da72a9ecf89a4e0cc6e4686c1155b2
