ubuntu 10.10 Maverick - unable to use ALSA with music applications, only pulseaudio. How can ALSA be enabled

I have been running Amarok and using ALSA in my configuration with Ubuntu 10.04. When I went to Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick, pulseaudio was the only driver available.. How do I ALSA option enabled?

remove this cursed pulseaudio to hell, install alsa-oss
you'll have some problems with sound-control (it won't be able), i recommend - sudo apt-get install xfce4-mixer
