Audio pop when switching off computer

Asked by cirobr

Hello,

When switching off an HP dv-2140us with a fresh/clean Ubuntu Lucid install, an audio pop noise can be heard, similar to a DC transient on a loudspeaker.

This has happened before on an old computer of mine (as reported on the below link), but newer Ubuntu releases (including Lucid) have fixed the issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
