internal mic and JACKin/out not working on asus1001px Ubuntu NBR 10.04

Internal mic and JACKin/out port for external mic or headphones are not working. I am using Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04 and Asus 1001PX. Everything worked fine on Windows 7 Starter. I suppose it's a matter of ALSA drivers. I checked if my mic is not muted, and it's not. Please, give a quick response.

What windows does or doesnt do is of no value as it is a different OS with different support.

Can you check the levels are high and unmuted, you should also run:

alsamixer
and ensure the levels are hgh and unmuted there.

Can you also give the full output of:

cd ~; wget -O alsa-info.sh http://alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh && bash ./alsa-info.sh

I just mentioned a differrent OS to ensure that my problem is not a problem of hardware.

I checked the alsamixer options before, volume is high and unmuted.

Try Linux Mint 11 GNOME DVD 32 bit
