Hi,
I was with Karmic Koala and couldn't get my sound to work. Now upgraded to 10.04 and still doesn't work. I tried all tutorials I found, upgraded Alsa to 1.0.23 and still nothing. Configuring Alsa it detects does my audigy 2 (SB0240) but it installs emu10k1. In alsa site I see that emu10k2 should be installed but I can't figure how to install it. Bios internal sound is deactivated.
I'm pretty to to linux, sound is working perfectly in Windows XP SP3.
I submitted a hardware report with the "system testing" but I have no idea where to find it.
Can somebody help me out there?

Audigy things are more often than not REALLY hard to get working. SO totally not worth it.
This may help:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/
This will give the ALSA 1.0.23 compiled 4 days ago.

According to your ALSA mixer settings, a lot of audio channels on the SB Audigy 2 are muted and set to 0% volume in gnome-alsamixer.
First install gnome-alsamixer using the following Terminal command:
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude install gnome-alsamixer
Then UNMUTE and INCREASE the volume to 80% for the following gnome-alsamixer channels (using the gnome-alsamixer application):
Master channel
Front channel
Surround
Center channel
LFE channel
etc...
Try unmuting and activating the Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack.
Then use a headphone to test sound output on all analog audio ports on the soundcard.
If that does not help, try disabling the External Amplifier switch.
You can also try enabling the Sigmatel 4-Speaker Stereo channel.
