Acer Aspire One 110 internal microphone not recognised

The internal microphone is missing as an option in the input sound settings, at least the present internal audio analog stereo option does not record any sound, even shouting into the mic.
This is on 10.4 netbook remix. The mic was working before on 9.10.

I had a similar problem. I was able to record sound with the Audio-Recorder, but the mic as not working in Skype.

So i installed pavucontrol, switched to "Input" and moved the left channel of the mic to 0%, and the right one to 100%.

Can you help with this problem?
