Intel HDA - 5/3400 Series Glitchy Sound

Oh yes, I DO have sound (I've searched, and all people have are "no sound problems."

When I do anything that requires the system sounds to be played, or when I change my volume, the output of sound is horrid, glitchy and unsolvable via the alsamixer.

Pulseaudio has the same problem, so switching to ALSA was my first step, but it didn't make it any better; still glitchy static noises, still annoying. Anyone have a fix for this?

This is on both Karmic (current version) and Lucid (Not upgrading to, because of a problem with FGLRX Drivers and Perfect World.)
