allegro5 package is installed with ASSERT() enabled

Asked by Ted Estes

I have installed Allegro5 in the past by pulling source from GitHub (https://github.com/liballeg/allegro5) and using cmake / make.

I decided to try the Ubuntu packages for Allegro5 and its add-ons. While my application does compile and run with the installed packages, I discovered that ASSERT() macros are active in the libraries. Unless my understanding is incorrect, I think that the packages should be compiled with NDEBUG, which disables ASSERT()

Packages:
  liballegro5.2t64
  liballegro-acodec5.2t64
  liballegro-audio5.2t64
  liballegro-dialog5.2t64
  liballegro-image5.2t64
  liballegro-physfs5.2t64
  liballegro-ttf5.2t64
  liballegro-video5.2t64
