Install alien package converter on ubuntu 9.10

I manually download alien using another pc. Now alien package is on my ubuntu desktop. Tell me how do i install it. I don't have any idea.

Hi Luis,
that alien package is ".tar.gz" type package. (If u know alien package converter ".deb" type package download url tell me). *I don' have a internet connection.

You can download alien package from http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/alien .You need to download all packages marked with red ball (you can download blue ones too) and then download alien package ( at the bottom of the page).Put all packages in one folder and put that folder in your Ubuntu home directory.Let say the folder name is folal (name it as you wish).Applications>accessories>terminal and type

cd folal

sudo dpkg -i *deb

That will install alien packages and all dependencies.If you don´t have internet connection you can use Keryx http://keryxproject.org/
