Adobe Flash Player Update - Ubuntu 12.04 beta2

Asked by Lina Pug

2012-04-16 I've made an update through the Ubuntu's Update Manager. When it came time to update Adobe Flash Player, the process stopped and I had to reboot into recovery mode. After that, through the terminal, I've update and upgrade the apt, uninstalled the flashplugin and, as I was in doubt to reinstall or not flashplugin, I search in the internet and found a Firefox extension called Flash-Aid 2.2.3. I've installed that one, and today, after the "storm" passed, my Ubuntu seems to have returned to normal.

Adobe has dropped its support for flash in Linux. However, Adobe still supports Flash in Linux via Pepper API in Chrome. it's highly possible that it's a bug in adobe flash. Using Flash in Google Chrome shouldn't have any problems.

Hi Paravin!

Thanks for your reply. The Flash-Aid installed the following packages:

adobe-flash-properties-gtk (11.2.202.233-0precise1)
adobe-flashplugin (11.2.202.233-0precise1)

From the day that the bug occurred to date, everything seems to be working correctly.

But your explanation is still valid for those who use other browsers.

Thank again.
Lina
