the last two security updates stopped firefox from streaming audio and video!

I had checked unsuported critical updates and later installed two critical updates and that stopped firefox from streaming any video and audio..Why?

Do you mean pre-releases 'proposed' for testing purpose?
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu#Updates_Tab

Remove culprit apps, disable 'proposed', reload package cache and install them again from stable repos.
Or try Synaptic which has an option to force specific versions.

This a tricky method to update flash take the flash file from chromium:

The user solution is starting from post:

"I solved my problem! Probably, Adobe has deprecated the support for all those applications which run under Linux which aren't Google Chrome (I personally hate it). To solve it you have to rename and move the Chrome plugin into Firefox directory, in order to do this you have to: .... "
