flash player help for 10.10

recently lost my ability to flash videos in ubuntu 10.10. installed gnu shockwave and can view youtube but other sites are black.? Please advise. thanks

From terminal type:

sudo apt-get purge adobe-flash-properties-gtk adobe-flashplugin browser-plugin-gnash flashplugin-installer gnash gnash-common gnash-cygnal 0.8.8-5ubuntu1 GNU Shockwave Flash (SWF) player - Media server

Then using firefox try this

1. Visit Flash-Aid for Firefox.
Flash-Aid Plugin Link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-aid/
2. Install Flash-Aid.
3. Restart Firefox.
4. Select Tools-> Flash-Aid-> Wizard Mode
5. Select "Google, from Chrome" in the drop down for which version to use.
6. Click on Next on everything as Defaulted.
7. The final screen click execute.
8. A shell command window will open, enter your password for sudo.
9. Close Shell window.
10. Restart Firefox.
