How do I get flash player on ubuntu 8.04?

I cant get flash player. I have tried everything. It always says "no plugin available"

But Ubuntu 8.04 is (except the server version, without a graphical user interface) only supported until the middle of next month, so perhaps this would be an opportune time to upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04. (From there, if you wish to do so and are willing to use a non-LTS release, you can upgrade to 10.10, and from there, if you wish, you could upgrade to 11.04, which is released near the end of this month and is also not an LTS release.)
