Audio missing from flash videos

Asked by John Garton

Running kubuntu 10.04 using two browsers, firefox and konqueror. Installed adobe flash player plugins for both. tried kubuntu- restricted-extras and still have the problem of no audio for flash videos or any other internet videos. Audio works with amarok and for notifications and for video viewer. kubuntu is installed as dual boot with Vista 32 bit. Audio also doesn't seem to work with Kdenlive video editor. nvidia chips on board.

I'm new to kubuntu and not sure what you're looking for. I haven't delved
into the cli at all. any help would be appreciated but i need to have some
guidance. I was thinking of removing the adobe flash player and replacing it
with gnash but i can't figure out how to remove the plug-ins on firefox and
konqueror, or if i even need to. I'm new to linux, like kubuntu, but have
questions by the ton.

Please don't reply via mail to Launchpad mail notification but visit directly your question Launchpad site link.
Replying via mail to launchpad message might expose your email address to the net and you will give a lot of
spam.

Then answering using mail will result into a confused thread (very long with unecessary replyed info) and you can't
manage your question state.

New to Ubuntu: read the Ubuntu Manual, it's very informative: http://ubuntu-manual.org/
Click on the "download Button" to download the latest PDF version.

Thank you
