Hulu videos will not play, latest flash installed

Asked by james shrum

I upgraded from 8.04 to 10.04 to try to solve my hulu problem...did not work. I have installed and uninstalled the flash non-free, still did not work. I do not seem to have adblock in play, or problems with cookies. Hulu gives me the message: "This site does not support express install" then it directs me to go to Flash to download the latest version. In about:plugins I can see that I have the latest version of flash, yet hulu does not seem to recognize this. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I entered what was above. From your response I gather you were expecting more info.It seems to not see flash at all. synaptic manager does not list it either. I assume I will have to get another flash plugin...but which one?

thanks

Yes, you don't have flash installed.

I suggest you run:

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

and you will have flash installed.

This is what the output says now. Does that mean that flash is installed? Or is just the installer on my system? I tried to access hulu videos again and still get the express install not supported method.

thanks

Yes you have flash installed fine. You may benefit from running:

sudo apt-get --purge remove flashplugin-nonfree flashplugin-installer; sudo apt-get clean; sudo apt-get --purge autoremove; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
