lost adept after update

Asked by starhawk

The APT Database could not be opened! This may be caused by incorrect APT configuration or some similar problem. Try running apt-setup and apt-get update in terminal and see if it helps to resolve the problem. this was after I tried to reinstall adept with synaptic and by command line

Thanks for your question,

What is the content of your /etc/apt/sources.list file ?
Please open a terminal, and report the output of this command:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list

Don't worry. It's not a problem with your sources.list file. It's a critical bug of Adept that causes this problem. The bug is described here https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121456. I hope that could be fixed soon.

Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages. ) any ideas

Any particular reason to use Gutsy?
If not you should install Feisty, Gutsy its still well before release (Tribe 2 is out soon) so it should not be used if not for debugging.
