Can someone give me a steer or explain how I can get Acrobat 9 functionality in ubuntu 10.04, please?
I've searched on "create pdf" with no luck as far as I can understand.

Can you describe your scenario a little further?

Most applications in ubuntu, eg libreoffice, inkscape, and most gnome applications can print to a PDF without requiring additional software.

Yes, I can print to a pdf. I'm looking for the functionality of Acrobat: insert pages, delete pages, crop pages, rotate pages, OCR, text touch-up, etc.

I don't believe acrobat provide a linux version. You can run the latest version under wine however.

For some of those things (delete pages, OCR) there are open-source alternatives, like pdfshuffler, and ocropus. For others, I am not aware of a graphical interface alternative.

Don't forget that unlike other readers, acrobat also has javascript built in, which you may wish to disable for security reasons.
