unable to control brightness ( Sony viao . Modal :SVE15115ENW)
Hi
I installed ubuntu 12.10 .Through wubi .
Every thing was fine . But i can't able to adjust my screen brightness (
Sony vaio . Modal :SVE15115ENW)
Could you plz help me with this problem .

have your tried the kernel parameters
acpi_osi=
or
acpi_backligt=
?
Have a look here :

and try to pass these parameters through grub to kernel and see

I tried following steps . But helpless to me .
1.
gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub
2.
GRUB_DEFAULT=0

GRUB_HIDDEN_
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
GRUB_DISTRIBUTO
Debian`
GRUB_CMDLINE_
3.
GRUB_DEFAULT=0
#GRUB_HIDDEN_
GRUB_HIDDEN_
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
GRUB_DISTRIBUTO
Debian`
GRUB_CMDLINE_
4.
GRUB_CMDLINE_
5.
sudo update-grub
6.sudo reboot.
I followed all this steps . There is no change .
Could you plz help me with this problem.

GRUB_CMDLINE_
Don't forget to run:
sudo update-grub
after the edit, reboot to test

After following below steps
1.GRUB_
2.sudo update-grub
. My Brightness indicator is not displaying . There is no change .
PLZ give me any other solution to correct my problem

This the result i got . By using
echo 400 | sudo tee /sys/class/
>

bash: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
sony@ubuntu:~$ /dev/null
bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
PLZ help me with this error
