Asked by tedschott

HI! And: T Y! For Ubuntu/Linux!!!!

My DELL Optiplex 170L will not re-awaken, after the monitor goes to sleep.

I am running Ubuntu 11.10, Oneric. Intel 82810EB chipset, 40-GB HDD, 512-MB RAM, running Ubuntu only. No-Windows, no-dual-boot.

Otherwise, it is absolutely perfect. T Y!

Easy workarround:
System settings -> Monitor -> set the time after your monitor went sleeping to never. Than you will have no problems anymore.

When you will handle the problem at all: Make a bugreport on this. -> Google how to do when this is necessary.

Please, not in that way for your bugreport.

I close this here as invalid, because no developer can handle this description.

Please read:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

or for short:

Alt +F2

and type in:

ubuntu-bug xorg

Also you should thing over what the problem exactly is: monitor sleeping or system sleeping.

In the last case use

Alt +F2

and type

ubuntu-bug linux-generic

Also thing of a good symmary and not :

"I am trying this suggestion. T Y!" -> That do not describe your problem.

Can you help with this problem?
